Heading off to the Society for Asian and Comparative Philosophy annual meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii.
I am excited to be heading back to the East-West Center, next to the University of Hawai’i, Manoa. I first visited the EWC in 2011 for a NEH Summer Institute hosted by the Asian Studies Development Program, called the Dynamics of Cultural Unity and Diversity in Southeast Asia.
For the SACP, I will be chairing a session on “Imagination and Hermeneutics.” My presentation is entitled “Reimagining Islam as a Dao: The Virtues of the Sage Muhammad.”
