I’m very excited to return to the Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies at George Mason University for a wonderful gathering of experts on Islam in China. Huseyin Yilmaz and Ahmet Selim Tekelioglu have generously supported a small conference, “Islam in China: New Studies and Perspectives,” which will include many of the leading scholars in the field.
